Delete your account
How to remove your Curio account, and what that takes with it.
Last updated 8 September 2026
From inside the app
This is the fastest route and it needs nobody’s help. Open Curio, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm once. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone.
If you cannot get into the app
Write to hello@curiocc.app from the email address on the account, with the word “delete” and your handle. The account will be removed within 30 days, and usually within a couple of days.
The request has to come from the account’s own address, because that is the only way to know it is yours. If you no longer control that address, say so and you will be asked for something else that shows the account is yours.
What is deleted
Your account and sign-in details, your handle, display name, bio and profile picture, every pick and note you have posted, your follows in both directions, your saves, your reactions, your blocks, and any reports you filed, which are attached to your account and go with it.
What is not
Three things survive, and the reasons are on the privacy page in full.
- Reports that named you. That record holds no link back to your account, which is what stops a complaint being erased by the person it was made about. Your identifier and any quoted text are stripped out of it as your account goes, in a second step that is retried once; if that step does not land, write to hello@curiocc.app and it will be finished by hand.
- The shared cache of information about links - titles, artwork, creators - which is stored against the link rather than against any person and contains nothing about you.
- Crash reports and usage events already sent to Curio’s diagnostics providers, under an identifier that no longer belongs to anyone. Ask and these will be purged too.
